State Police
The Vermont State Police provide law enforcement in the Town of Wardsboro. They may be contacted at Westminster Barracks at 802.722.4600 or by dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency.
Game Warden

Power Outages
Downed power line – LEAVE IT ALONE! Call GMP at 888-835-4672 or use the app
When cutting trees or branches: Don’t if they are in contact with power lines.
If there are down wires among the trees, the road crew can only remove the trees once the wires have been cleared by GMP. In no circumstances can the road crew remove wires – it is just too dangerous.
If you are at the end of a line, your power will not be restored until some stations on your line on repaired.

Emergency Supply Kits: Prepare ahead of time – See lists below
If a storm is expected: If you use oil or propane – Check the tank level
If you have a generator – Be sure to have enough fuel
If you don’t have a generator – Have food that doesn’t require cooking
Once a storm hits: Check in with neighbors and relatives – Do they have heat?
Do they have food and water?
Do they need emergency or fire/rescue help?
Stay off the roads if possible!
Evacuation
When to evacuate: If suggested or mandated, or you’re in danger.
Follow the instructions given:
Go Bags – Prepare ahead of time Have one per person/pet
Keep food and medicines rotates so they don’t expire
Have a designated place to go Be sure friends and family know where that is
