Foreman’s Report 3-24-26

Work Completed in the Last Two Weeks

Stone was spread on muddy areas throughout the town to improve road conditions. This included Townshend Dam Road, Newell Road, Dover Road, South Wardsboro Road, and Smead Road.
Road grading was performed during cooler temperatures. This helped level out ruts and minimized the creation of additional mud.
Brush trimming was completed along various side roads to enhance visibility and safety.
Cerpak was applied to South Wardsboro Road to level out an area where a culvert had been dug out.
The crew removed downed trees caused by a recent wind storm, ensuring the roads were clear and safe for travel.

All non-functional grader lights were replaced with LED lights to improve equipment visibility and reliability.
The chipper was taken out of storage, and its battery was placed on a tender to maintain charge.
Chipper knives were flipped, and oil levels were checked to ensure the machine is ready for use.
The wings were cleaned off. Plans are in place to bring them into the shop for painting before moving them to summer storage.

The upcoming two weeks will focus on the following projects and maintenance activities:

Begin turning over roads with the grader to aid drying and smooth out ruts.
Mulch selected areas using the excavator, with preparations underway for additional work scheduled for this summer.
Replace a failed culvert on Susan Lynn Lane to maintain proper drainage and prevent road damage.
Remove the wing tower from the grader.
Remove the wing from T1.
