Foreman’s Report 5-13-25

Work completed in the last two weeks

  • Highway work completed
    • Ditched Newell rd, will need to replace bottom culvert, full of sediment
    • Continued mulching
    • Cleaned out culvert inlets during rain
    • Cut up downed trees on South Wardsboro road, bank keeps sliding in multiple areas
    • Road grading finished up initial passes, touch ups and chloride as needed
  • Salt/Sand
    • Sand bids due next meeting
  • Maintenance
    • Trucks stripped, oil undercoated
    • New teeth installed on mulching head
    • Crack welded on ditching bucket
    • Mower oil changed, cleaned deck and greased
    • Loader batteries drained, pulled and charged/alternator tested good, will monitor for future issues
    • Swapped tailgate valve in T2
  • Other
    • Mowing and trimming have started
    • Review bids for paving
    • Met with USDA about grant funding on 3 house sites in town
    • Cleaned off lot in front of town garage

Plan for the next two weeks

  • Cut brush and trees in areas were planning ditch and culvert work
  • Touch up grading
  • Change oil and filter in excavator
  • Pick up grass seed and hay
  • Get quote on a ram 5500 with regular dump body to replace t4
  • Clean bridges with FD at training
